Today, I witnessed what is unquestionably one of the most entertaining games of baseball I have ever seen in my life.
It was the Colorado Rockies vs. Kansas City Royals, at Surprise Stadium, in Surprise, Arizona.
And words do not do this game justice.
The game started like gangbusters -- each team racking up five runs in the first inning. Then it got quiet, before the final wild three innings.
Rockies, down by three going into the 8th, score two in that inning, and then take the lead with three runs in the 9th. Score: 11-9.
Game over? Not quite.
Royals get a man on, then a 2-run homer ties the game in the bottom of the 9th.
And that's how the game ended. In a tie.
Yes, the game that never has ties, had a tie. It will never happen during the regular season or during the post-season, but in Spring Training, teams agree by mutual consent to allow tie games.
And so, I witnessed a first -- never before have I seen a tie ball game, until this afternoon in Arizona.
And one heck of an entertaining game at that. More photos/video to come.
